Check Out Some Great Photo’s From The Event
Great Photo’s from the martial arts demo by Team Dragon
The Reality Check Foundation’s 3rd Annual Golf Outing was a huge success. There were 65 kids and 25 mentors who participated in the golfing part of the day. This year the foundation was blessed by a special presentation by Team Dragon Martial Arts. The martial arts demonstration was amazing. Over 200 people witnessed some amazing feats done by Steve Ellis and his whole martial arts school. Team Dragon then offered a free month of lessons to anyone who
came to watch the demonstration. Some of the things Team Dragon did were mind boggling. From breaking bricks, boards and catching arrows shot from 20 yards away. Steve also sliced a cucumber on a man’s neck, broke arrows in his esophagus and organized all the weapons demonstrations by his team from Team Dragon. Thanks to Team Dragon people from as far away as Ft. Lauderdale Florida got to witness some great feats. What a bonus the foundation received. Steve Ellis is a believer in the Reality Check Program as the Reality Check Program is a believer in the principles taught by Team Dragon. Rain shortened the actual golf playing, but everyone’s spirits were high.
Every kid received a $10 Wal-Mart gift card and many other raffles were awarded as well. The staff at Viera East golf course did a great job with the food. Over 100 people ate a great meal and awards were done afterwards. The volunteers did a great job as usual and the foundation could never do this without them. A special thanks and certificate of appreciation was given to Joe Reilly the Vice President of the Reality Check Program and a board member of the Reality Check Foundation for his unwavering support of the program and the foundation.
The Reality Check Foundation runs two main events, the golf outing in the summer and the bowling outing in the winter. The foundation also awards the Community Champion Award quarterly to a person between the ages of 20 and 45 who donates his time outside his chosen profession. Recognizing young people in all things is the base philosophy of the foundation. Mr. Lawton the President of the Reality Check Program and Reality Check Foundation is a believer in the youth of this country. “The youth of country are the future of country, said Lawton”.
The Reality Check Foundation wants people and especially young people to get involved in helping the community and teaching teens that there is more to life than drugs and crime. Please get involved.
